Seeking a QA Engineer (Senior Mainframe Manual QA) to join our client’s Mainframe Engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in testing transactional systems that utilize COBOL, CICS, DB2 technologies plus the ability to grasp an understanding of complex enterprise environments. This role will contribute to major project initiatives, collaborating closely with engineering peers, product teams, and business partners to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions.
 

• Work location: Columbus, OH preferred, possibly remote (NO PST)
• M-F work hours

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze system requirements and translate them into high‑quality test plans.
• Execute those plans.
• Collect test results and store in JIRA / Qtest
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams to ensure alignment on project goals and technical approaches.

 
Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of Agile SDLC methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within complex, large-scale mainframe environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ISTQB
• CSTP
• CAT
• 5+ years of Banking/Financial Services/Insurance Domain functional testing experience
