Our popular Women, Wine & Web Design workshop is back virtually and offering 3 different sessions to learn basic web design concepts, while sipping your favorite wine! Grab your favorite glass of red or white wine and log on for an evening of fun, learning and virtual connection!
In the workshop, attendees will learn the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript by creating their very own virtual Wine Cellar. You’ll be using numerous HTML tags to create the site, then styling it with CSS. Then, to really personalize your cellar and make it your own, we’ll be implementing basic JavaScript.
Before attending: All that’s needed is a computer (with Brackets installed) and connection to the Internet!
Workshop size: While our in-person workshops can reach 100+ attendees, our virtual sessions will be limited to 20 attendees to keep focus on the overall experience and to allow for questions and interactions. Please only reserve a spot if you can guarantee that you’ll be able to attend. And if you have to cancel for any reason, we ask that you cancel your ticket so that someone on the waitlist can join.
Instructor: Jennifer Zellner – Software Engineering Manager at AssurantLabs. She supports Android, iOS, Ruby on Rails, and ReactNative developers in their daily activities as well as their career trajectory.
In addition to the Manager hat, Jen also serves as a Scrum Master for various teams. Jen began her career as an Android developer where she worked on mobile apps spanning across the Healthcare, Cloud Storage, and Insurance markets. While she was developing, Jen also taught HTML, CSS, Javascript, and mobile classes. It was through these teaching experiences that Jen realized she wanted to move into management to help coach and grow engineers.
She is also currently the Conference Director for the Cleveland getWITIt Chapter and plans to speak at this year’s virtual conference. She hasn’t chosen a topic just yet and is open to suggestions! Jen is excited to teach this Women, Wine & Web Design class because it marries two of her big passions: coaching and women in tech!
