We’re kicking off 2021 Techlife Live season with guests Alex Frommeyer (CEO – Beam) and Dr. Tonjia Coverdale (AVP – Nationwide).
About Alex Frommeyer:
After receiving a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Louisville, Alex saw an opportunity to bring innovative solutions to the dental insurance industry. Along with Alex Curry and Dan Dykes, he launched Beam Dental from a living room in Kentucky in 2012. Since then Beam has raised $90million and has grown to 200+ employees. Outside of work Alex is a passionate supporter of the Arts.
About Dr. Tonjia Coverdale:
Tonjia Coverdale is an executive, professional, and scholar who has cultivated her unique perspective of technology through the combination of academic theories, applied research, industry practices, entrepreneurial insight, and strategic focus.
With three degrees in information systems and technology – B.S., MBA, and Ph.D. – Tonjia has 23 years experience in the field. Having pursued a dual career path in both industry and academia, she also has 19 years of experience in higher education as an administrator and professor. Prior to her current role at Nationwide she most recently serving as the Vice President for IT and Chief Information Officer at Central State University.
She also has a dedicated commitment to increasing socioeconomic mobility by providing career access to the technology industry, with a keen interest in creating pathways for women and traditionally underrepresented groups.
