Branch Insurance is one of the hottest Midwest startups, having recently raised a series A round of over $24 Million. Founded in 2017, Branch provides a technology and community-driven insurance that addresses many of the problems in insurance today. By leveraging community growth instead of traditional advertising, Branch passes the cost savings onto the customer. With plans to grow to 150 jobs in Columbus, Branch Insurance is on track to have a massive impact in our region.

During this Startup Grind, we will be talking with Steve Lekas, Cofounder & CEO of Branch, about what it takes to scale an insurance company, the insurance market, and his journey to being a founder.

Agenda

6:00 PM: Welcome and Introduction

6:05 PM: Fireside Chat with Steve Lekas

6:55 PM: Q & A

Company

Branch Insurance (https://ourbranch.com/)

Branch was founded in 2017 behind a simple idea: insurance has lost its way.
It’s time we see the forest through the trees. At Branch, we think insurance has forgotten why it exists—a force for communal good. We’re restoring insurance back to its original role. We’re getting back to getting each other’s back. Introducing Bundled Home & Auto Insurance powered by community.

Speaker

Steve Lekas – Branch Insurance (Co-Founder and CEO)

A 20 year insurance professional, Steve began his career at Allstate, followed by Esurance, where he built the U.S.’s first online home insurance business. Prior to Branch, Steve was President of the Insurance Services Office’s personal lines business for Verisk Analytics. Steve cofounded Branch in 2017 to make insurance less expensive and reintroduce insurance to society as a communal good.
