Jim has accepted to come and share some more of his wisdom around Liberating Structure.
Local agilist, trainer and coach Jim Sammons will be our presenter on 3/19. This will be an interactive session using multiple Liberating Structures (www.liberatingstructures.com) to help participants learn about Liberating Structures and to immediately start using a few to solve real problems that they’re facing. This always proves to be an enjoyable and positive experience.
To stimulate discussion Jim will answer two questions he gets all the time as a trainer:
1. What is the difference between an Agile Coach and a Scrum Master?
2. How do I measure my Scrum Masters and Scrum Teams effectiveness?
All you need to bring are:
• An open mind
• A great attitude
• Some problems
Jim is a passionate technologist who believes in the power of people doing meaningful work to better the world. This passion led him to pursue Kanban, then Scrum and finally a more pragmatic understanding of how to work to help teams deliver solutions using a variety of agile methods. Jim brings with him more than 23 years of experience in technology with the last 8 years being work as a Scrum Master, coach, consultant and trainer in lean and agile methodologies. A self-described “Agile Hippy”, he loves helping people, teams, and organizations of all sizes take a more humanistic approach to work in the spirit of getting more valuable work done so we can all change the world for the better.
Jim is currently a Professional Scrum Trainer with Scrum.org and works at Insight in Columbus. He is actively training, coaching and consulting for Insight customers across the country.
In his spare time, Jim can be found on his hobby farm in Grove City tending to his goats, dogs and other animal companions. He has a particular passion for board gaming, coffee and making things from wood and metal with his 3D printer, lathe, and a Shapeoko CNC. Oddly enough he also really enjoys mowing the grass, cutting down trees and clearing land. Someday he’d like to run some heavy equipment.
