A majority of large IT projects run over budget and fail to deliver on time. In fact many companies are refusing to start projects with a budget of more than a million dollars. However many of us work for large organizations that need to scale. And while Scrum and XP gave us the building blocks, we need a framework for scaling our teams to support large scale delivery of value.

Scaled Agile Framework for enterprises (SAFe) is the most common and well developed approach for scaling agile teams. The SAFe framework is a knowledge base of proven success patterns for implementing Lean-Agile software and systems development at enterprise scale. SAFe takes a different approach to building value, funding value streams to produce products instead of projects. SAFe provides the framework an organization needs to effectively scale agile teams.
