Do you want to learn the basics of how computers operate or how code works? Are you interested in programming but don’t know where to start? Does an introductory programming class seem too technical or intimidating? If you answered “Yes!” to even one of those questions, this class is for you!
In this workshop, we’ll explore some fundamental and universal programming concepts. We’ll use real-life activities and examples to demonstrate common structures such as if statements, variables, and loops. We’ll talk about some of the words and tools software developers use and answer questions in a low-pressure environment.
This workshop by itself won’t turn you into a programmer overnight, but it will give you an understanding of what programming entails and provide a stepping stone to future learning.
Bindu started learning about computers in high school. She finished her Bachelors in Education and at the same time took some additional computer classes. Her previous job involved operating various softwares and teaching customers how to use them. Her job furthered her interest in computers. She went back to school and got two Associates degrees, one in web development and one in networking. While earning her Associates, she also gained experience as a math peer tutor at the community college. She not only loves learning but also loves to help others in their learning.
