This two-hour workshop is designed to introduce you to the basics of using Git to manage software and sharing code repositories through the site GitHub. In addition to learning all about the usage and benefits of Git/GitHub, attendees will receive an epically cool Octocat sticker and a fancy Girl Develop It pen/stylus.Â
Workshop teacher: Kim Hamper

Scholarships
We are able to offer two scholarships for this workshop. If you would like to attend this  workshop but are unable to due to financial reasons, you can apply for a scholarship here. The deadline for scholarship applications for this class is Thursday, June 2nd.
Scholarship requirements:
• You are a member of the Girl Develop It Columbus Meetup group (www.meetup.com/girldevelopitcbus)
Refund Policy:
Your payment of $20 guarantees your seat in the workshop. Please note that we cannot issue refunds, since there’s an overhead to issuing refunds via Meetup.com and we already offer the workshops at such a low cost. We put proceeds into the chapter fund, which we use as our scholarship fund.
Other Disclaimers:
Our program and curriculum are geared toward adults over the age of 18; at this time we do not accept minors as students in our courses and workshops.
If you have questions, please contact Caitlin Steinert (caitlins@girldevelopit.com).
Location
This class will be hosted at the Cardinal Solutions office in the Arena District. The front door faces the alley next to the Steak Escape building, across from Gordon Biersch and the Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar. We will post pink GDI signs to guide you. Please see the map below for directions.Â
Parking
Cardinal can validate parking passes from the Nationwide Garage on Front Street. Be sure to enter the “Daily Parking” South gate (it has a traffic light). Be sure to get a validated ticket from the person in the booth by telling them that you are there for a Cardinal Solutions event. (Cardinal cannot validate the $10 event parking passes.)
If you would like to park elsewhere, we recommend parking in the Short North (area parking info) and taking the free CBUS (bus stop and timetable info) to the Ohio Center Way stop. Please let Caitlin or Parker know if you have any questions.
