Please join us for the May Data Viz Meetup!
Our guest speaker this month is Tyler Reed the founder of the HAPI, the Hydroponic Automation Platform Initiative. The open source collaboration is focused on developing a suite of tools that will allow people to grow a variety of food in diverse environments. The primary focus is building intelligent automation for hydroponics and aquaponics.
Tyler has extensive experience in urban agriculture and open-source software. He will be presenting on open-source software and hydroponics. The presentation will focus primarily on the data generated from a multi-sensor facility. The talk will discuss how that data gets communicated, persisted and ultimately displayed as useful information to the user and will look specifically at MQTT, InfluxDB and Grafana. This information is presented in the context of small-scale urban agriculture and will include a demo of the software/hardware prototypes of the automation platform.
