Entrepreneurship is having its hayday, and for many creatives this path seems like the obvious next step in their career path. Today, starting your own design or interactive firm is more possible than ever, but even if you can, should you become a founder? Lacey shares her experiences from working in an agency, to her transition as a freelancer and eventually starting and growing her own studio—all whilst being candid in the personal struggles to choose if this new path was fulfilling her goals. How do you know if starting an agency is right for you, what are the options, and what could that journey look like?
About Lacey:
Lacey is the founder of ZoCo Design, a leading brand strategy and user experience design agency. Through ZoCo, she has built a reputation in preparing brands for what’s next—identifying opportunities that incite transformation and growth for nonprofits and startups to Fortune ​top ​​50 clients. Lacey is an avid supporter of the creative and startup communities​, and is also a co-founder in the Lumos accelerator—which has now invested in two separate cohorts​ to fuel the growth of fifteen promising startups.
