Learn the basics of Google Cloud Platform, Linux and web servers. Together, we will set up a free tier Linux host on GCP, install web server software and create our first webpage. By the end of the session, you will have a basic free webpage on the internet for blogs, resumes or whatever you want. No previous experience is needed!
Our guest speaker is Patrick Brumbaugh, Principal Software Engineer at Insight. About Patrick: “I’ve had the good fortune of being in the IT industry as a Linux/Unix infrastructure engineer for ~20 years. I’ve worked in user support for engineering firms, system administration in higher education, architecture engineering and performance testing for e-commerce and now I’m in the consulting arena. I like learning new things and love helping others excel. I’ve never grown out of the “OMG I have no idea what I’m doing” phase.
