Hiring your first employee can be tricky.  The transition from solo-entrepreneur to employer opens businesses to scrutiny under a variety of laws and regulations that can be a minefield for new employers to navigate on their own.  This session will help guide new employers through the process of hiring employees, and address some of the most common issues regarding onboarding employees that employers face.

The presentation will address the following common issues:

 1.  Employment applications

2.  Independent Contractor v. Employee (mis)classification

3.  Required State and Federal filings to onboard a new employee
