As much as serverless devs may try, it is often hard to escape the tentacles of a virtualized infrastructure. We just want to write the code only we can write, ship to a scalable & robust serverless platform, thus providing business value fast, and move on to the next challenge. However, in many organizations, network or security constraints can put a damper on our serverless party.
In this session, we will discuss approaches to integrate Azure Functions with virtual network restricted Azure resources. We will discuss approaches for private site access and virtual network integration. The discussion and demos will center around features available in Azure Functions’ consumption and premium-based hosting plans.
By attending this session, you will learn about the options available to meet several virtual network requirements, all while still leveraging the benefits of a serverless platform.

Speaker Bio:
Michael is a Principal Software Development Engineer in Microsoft’s Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) organization. Michael engages deeply with Microsoft’s top customers to help them build serverless solutions with demanding requirements. He has a vast amount of experience in helping companies determine the best strategy for adopting cloud computing, and providing the insight and hands-on experience to ensure they are successful. Michael is also a respected technology community leader, and is often found sharing his insights and experiences at regional and national conferences. Michael is also the co-author of two published books on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Azure Essentials: Fundamentals of Azure (1stand 2nd Edition).
