How Storage Systems Work With SQL Server
In this session we will learn how SQL Server interacts with storage devices for the different operations that it performs. You will learn about the basic concepts of storage, PerfMon counters, and understand how storage metrics directly correlate with database performance.
An overview of storage stacks in virtualization and container/Kubernetes environments will be in the agenda as well.
We will also go over the different kinds of storage available for SQL Server, both on-premises and in the cloud.
Bio
Argenis Fernandez is a Principal Architect at Pure Storage. He works with customers around the world to make sure they don’t have to worry much about their infrastructure for Data.
He is a former Data Platform MVP, former VMware vExpert, Microsoft Certified Master, and more recently worked in the Microsoft Azure Data/SQL Server engineering team as a Principal PM in the Tiger team.
