Although 1487 Brewery unveiled its head brewer, Chris Costic, a few weeks ago.  It is now completely official as Chris has once again made Columbus his home.  Costic has already been hard at work creating and brewing 1487 batches of Hefeweizen, Kölsch, Altbier and a unique German-American Pale Ale, ever the critic Costic continues to brew the recipes to his high standards.  CEO of 1487Brewery Ben King sought out Costic after hearing his name at a national brewer’s conference last year.

With a successful first impression, King took The Ohio State University graduate to Germany last fall as a unique way of testing his knowledge on Bavarian brewing and for a highly-intensive interview.

Costic, a Certified Cicerone and American Brewers Guild graduate, has built his resume at Magic Hat and Drop In Brewing Companies in Vermont and, most recently, at New Holland Brewing Company in Michigan.

Costic says he prides himself on the full beer experience as he also works on coming up with the best food pairings for his brews. We also look forward to Chris leading our Beer 101 classes, beer pairing and our Brewing 101 class.  1487 Brewery is ecstatic to have Chris and his vast knowledge, passion and creativity leading the brewery.  If you would like to learn more about Chris you watch our “Meet 1487 Head Brewer Chris Costic” video at https://www.facebook.com/pg/1487brewery/videos/?ref=page_internal.
